Do you have a question regarding our conference or the application?
There is a high chance that you will find the answer below, so check out our FAQ!
What can I expect from the conference?
If you participate at our conference, you will be participating in a very well-established and organized MUN conference - we have been doing this for 20 years. You can find a family within our association and participants. You will be debating at the UN City of Germany and will meet inspiring people such as our keynote and committee speakers. You will have lots of fun and we will make sure that you have an incredible time at BIMUN/SINUB 2024!

What are the committees at this year's conference?

This year we offer four different committees and a press team for which you can apply.
If you would like to represent a country and discuss international politics, you should join one of our four debating committees which are the UN Women, the COP, the UN Security Council, and our Crisis Committee.
If you prefer to report on debates and events during the conference and practice your journalistic skills, BIMUN Tribune is the committee for you!

Can I be sure that I will be able to represent one of the countries that were listed in my priorities in the application form?

We are trying our best to fulfill your wishes and try to give everyone their highest priority.

I have never participated at a MUN before, can I still participate without problems?
Yes, you can! We are more than happy to welcome first-time-MUNers at our conference in Bonn. Don't be afraid to apply. Everything will be explained to you in detail and of course, you are always allowed to ask questions.

Are there any special committees for beginners?
Yes, there are! The African Union is classified as a “beginner committee”. Furthermore, BIMUN Tribune, our press team, is also a great starting point for beginners. If you already have some experience, you can also choose to join the International Atomic Energy Agency, our intermediate committee. Just choose a committee with topics that you are interested in. Every committee will integrate you into the debates and you will be able to learn a lot about MUNing from more experienced MUNers.
I would like to participate, but I don't know what the fee is for participating as a journalist or delegate?
In the first wave there will be an early bird price of 100€. If you still need some time to think about an application, you can apply during the second wave or the third wave (October 5 to October 30). However, the fee will be 110€ then.

What is included in the fee?
You will have access to participate in our debates, have lunch each day, snacks and coffee at the coffee breaks, have access to our social parties including our gala night, receive a goodie bag, have the opportunity to join our pre-program at the UN building in Bonn, visit the old city hall, and have lots of fun!!
When do I need to pay the fee?

After you have applied our Participants department will contact you and will send you the bank details to which you have to transfer the money.
The Deadline for the first wave is September 8, for the second wave it’s October 13, and for the third wave, it's November 4.
Only when you have transferred the money, you will receive your allocated country.
I cannot participate anymore at the conference, but I already paid. Can I get my money back?

I am a vegetarian. Will there be a vegetarian food option at all times?

Yes! We are a Green Conference and therefore it is important to us to only offer healthy and climate-neutral food if possible. This, of course, includes a vegetarian option.

I have certain food allergies and/or intolerances. Is it possible to get special food during the conference?

Please list your allergies and/or intolerances in the application form. We will then try our best to offer you food that you are able to eat. In case our caterer cannot provide that, we will contact you beforehand and try to find a solution together with you.

I will need a visa to attend. What do I need to know?

If you need a visa to come to Germany we urge you to apply within the first wave, afterwards, we are not able to accept your application anymore due to time reasons. BIMUN/SINUB e.V. will provide you with a letter of invitation to enable an easier application process for the visa, however, you are responsible for filling out all the needed documents and informing yourself. We can recommend to visit the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

We want to apply as a Delegation. Is that possible?

Yes! Please write an email to participants@bimun.org. They will send you a document you can fill out as a group. However, every delegate needs to sign our Terms and Conditions and the Covid Policy.

Are faculty advisors allowed at the conference?

They are! Please write us an email to participants@bimun.org in that case as well. However, they will still have to pay a reduced fee of the Delegation Fee.

I have a question that is not listed here. Who can I contact?
